Privilege: a right, immunity, or benefit enjoyed only by a person beyond the advantages of most
Right: in accordance with what is good, proper, or just
A privilege is something given to a person, sometimes when they deserve it. A privilege does not have to be given. A privilege is as easily awarded as taken away.
A right is something someone deserves or is entitled to from a deal or law. A right must always be given.
A privilege is not a right.
Just like how a con is not something you must be taken to regardless of the circumstances. You can be taken to a con by friends who are extremely kind. If said friend chooses not bring said other friend. There is nothing to be done. They can't truly have a reason to be mad at said friend because no deal was ever made and no one was getting anything out of it except each others company. But when said friend feels that they are not getting to spend time with the other friend, or they feel the other friend is just using them. They have full rights to take said privileges away.
And there's nothing to be done except apologize, change your ways, and hope they forgive you.
Today's Lesson: Do not mistake a privilege for a right. Because they are very different.
